The cleaver blade made of D2 with a puristic stonewash finish opens as smoothly as silk via a thumb hole and does not lock. It is held by the modern Detent-Slipjoint mechanism, in which balls are pressed against the blade inside the textured, non-slip G10 handle and a clamping force must be overcome to close and open the knife. The highlight is that the knife has a double joint with a two-piece handle in which the blade is folded out as usual and the rear handle scales act as an extension of the front one. The result is a balanced feel, impressive sharpness and maximum compactness for transport, as the length of the folder disappears completely into the rear handle when it is closed.
